Inground pools.

Fully recessed into your yard with clean lines and no visual bulk, an inground pool remains Canberra's most popular choice.

The inground range.

An inground pool sits flush with your yard rather than on top of it, which is why it remains the most requested style across every construction method we install. It suits flat and gently sloping blocks, integrates cleanly with paving, decking and fencing, and is generally viewed as a stronger addition to a property's value than an above ground alternative. ACT Pools builds inground pools using fibreglass, precast concrete or fully custom poured concrete, depending on your block, budget and timeline, all backed by a structural warranty and installed by our local Canberra crew. Whether you are after a compact courtyard shape or a full family entertainer, an inground pool gives you a permanent, considered result rather than something that looks added on afterwards.

Why choose an inground pool?

An inground pool sits flush with your yard rather than sitting on top of it, which is why it remains the most requested style across every construction method we offer. It suits flat and gently sloping blocks alike and tends to add the most value to a property of any pool type.

  • No bulky structure interrupting your yard's lines or your view
  • Generally adds more to a property's resale value than an above ground pool
  • Works with fibreglass, concrete or precast Plungie construction

Built to a standard, not a shortcut

The pool sits at ground level, integrating cleanly with paving, decking and landscaping.

Works with any construction method

Fibreglass, poured concrete and precast concrete can all be installed in ground.

Stronger property value uplift

An in-ground pool is generally viewed by buyers and valuers as a more permanent, higher value feature than an above ground pool.

Suits flat and gently sloping blocks

The most common lot types across Canberra’s established and newer suburbs.

Integrates with your landscaping

Coping, paving and fencing are all designed together so the finished result feels considered rather than added on.

Compliant fencing from the start

Safety barriers are planned into the design from day one, not fitted as an afterthought.

How much does an inground pool cost?

Cost depends heavily on which construction method you choose. Fibreglass and precast concrete options tend to be faster and more predictable in price, while a fully custom poured concrete build sits at the higher end. We give you a fixed price once we know your preferred method and size.

Most family pools are built with a shallow end around one metre and a deeper end between 1.5 and 2 metres, though this varies with how the pool will be used. A lap pool typically uses a more consistent depth throughout.

Generally yes, more so than an above ground pool, since an inground pool is viewed as a permanent structural improvement rather than a removable feature. The uplift varies by suburb and property type, so it is worth discussing with a local agent as well as your builder.

An inground pool is excavated and sits flush with the yard, while an above ground pool sits on top of the ground with little to no excavation. Inground pools generally cost more and take longer to install, but offer a more permanent, integrated result.

This depends on the construction method. Fibreglass and precast concrete inground pools can be swim ready within 6 -12 weeks, while a fully custom poured concrete inground pool often takes several months from excavation to first swim.
